Art Beacon Gallery is honored to introduce Mohammad Qasim Iqbal, an artist whose work navigates the intricate boundaries between art, architecture, and imagination. Artist Statement

Qasim Iqbal : "My AI art focuses on the pursuit of the 'blurred zone', a concept inspired by Peter Eisenman and shaped by my own education. It seeks ambiguity and moments that prompt deeper reflection. By juxtaposing contradictory ideas, my work challenges conventional materials and forms, encouraging viewers to question the status quo. I explore the boundaries between art and architecture, perspective and composition, and use AI to blend dreams and reality, taking real elements beyond the limits of reality’s constraints. The art emerges when this balance is achieved, transforming the canvas into an interface between both worlds, all three states of time, adding depth to the surface and encouraging people not just to look, but to truly 'see'."

What is the core message you want to convey through your work?

Qasim Iqbal : "The core message of my work is to challenge viewers to pause, reflect, and question. By combining and layering ideas, I aim to provoke curiosity and encourage deeper engagement with the world. My images are fine-tuned sketches exploring the ‘blurred zone’, inspiring people to truly see, probe, and interrogate their surroundings, pushing art and creativity beyond conventional boundaries for societal progress."

Mohammad’s work reminds us to pause and reflect, challenging conventional boundaries and inspiring curiosity through his exploration of the “blurred zone.”

Murakami Cathedrals - Qasim Iqbal

Who or what is your biggest source of inspiration?

Qasim Iqbal : "My biggest inspiration comes from architecture, particularly the works of Le Corbusier and Peter Eisenman. Corbusier’s evolution and his manifesto Towards an Architecture deeply influence my ideology. Eisenman’s formal analysis sparked my interest in Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque architecture, drawing inspiration from Palladio, Raphael, Giulio Romano, Borromini, Bernini, and Michelangelo."

His admiration for architectural greats like Le Corbusier and Baroque masters showcases his dedication to blending timeless architectural principles with modern creativity.

What’s one thing you wish people understood about your art?

Qasim Iqbal : "I wish people understood that my art is not created impulsively but is the result of layered thought, intention, and meaning. Each piece undergoes a meticulous curation process, reflecting my education, experiences, and worldview. Behind every image lies a story and a narrative. I hope viewers take the time to engage with the work, trace its concept, and uncover the thought process behind it."

Mohammad’s emphasis on the thought and precision behind his art highlights the intricate narratives and layered intentionality in every piece.

Minarets of Tomorrow - Qasim Iqbal

What values or beliefs do you hold as an artist?

Qasim Iqbal : "I believe true artists must be humble yet confident, continually questioning, critiquing, and learning from everything around them. Every discipline offers lessons, and an architect’s mind is trained to find value in anyone, anything, and anywhere. The ability to appreciate, interrogate, and apply these insights reflects an artist's commitment to growth and mastery."

His belief in humility, confidence, and perpetual learning reflects a mindset that embraces growth and the value of diverse disciplines.

High Tech Renaissance - Qasim Iqbal

What is the biggest challenge, and how do you overcome it?

Qasim Iqbal : "The biggest challenge in AI art is creating work that stands out amidst the abundance of AI-generated imagery. This requires rigorous exploration through prompt engineering, variations, fine-tuning, and curation. The key is maintaining a highly critical approach throughout the process to ensure only the most refined and meaningful pieces emerge, overcoming the risk of overwhelming volume., in some cases I have to defer to a trusted set of eyes to ‘see’ what’s right in front of me."

His rigorous approach to curation and refinement allows him to stand out in the crowded field of AI art, demonstrating the power of critical thinking and precision.

It has been an honor to delve into the visionary world of Mohammad Qasim Iqbal through his insightful words and groundbreaking creations. His ability to challenge conventions and transform ambiguity into meaningful narratives inspires new ways of thinking about art and architecture. Art Beacon Gallery is proud to support his journey and eagerly anticipates the innovative and thought-provoking works he will create in the future.
